Ashdod residents
Following today's events, a directive has been received from the Home Front Command stating that special vigilance should be exercised in the coming hours.
The expectation is for firing from Lebanon and in this case, there will be no advance warning.
It is recommended to stay near a protected place. Enter it immediately upon the alarm and remain until you receive a release notice.
If you are in a vehicle and there is no advance warning to improve your position for protection, you should stop the vehicle carefully and move away from it and lie on the ground with your hands on your head.
Yours, Dr. Yechiel Lasry. Mayor
Ashdod residents,
After assessing the situation, the following are the decisions:
Yesterday, we also saw many landing sites - both of fragmenting missiles and of falling ones. Some of the alarms went off without prior warning. In each of the landing cases where enormous damage was caused, the residents who showed self-discipline and responsibility saved their lives and the lives of their children.
Do not underestimate or skip. The alarm is not a recommendation but a mandatory instruction!
When an alarm sounds - you must immediately go to a protected area and remain there until you receive a release notice.
Yesterday, large interceptor parts fell in Jerusalem about 7.5 minutes after the alarm, and therefore you must not leave the shelter before receiving a release notice.
I reiterate the instruction not to approach or touch interceptor parts or suspicious objects - they may explode on contact and cause great damage. If you see such an item - stay away and report to hotline 100 or 106.
Special Education: In accordance with the relief received yesterday, we are preparing to activate the entire special education system in Ashdod starting tomorrow, Wednesday.
Classes will be held until 2:00 PM, while we allow teams to bring their children to school babysitting.
In accordance with the instructions, there will be no transportation, and bringing children in the morning and at the end of the school day is the responsibility of the parents.
The Minister of Communications, Shlomo Kerei, also participated in today's assessment of the situation, who expressed his willingness to examine, at our request, the deployment of extensive Wi-Fi infrastructure, including in public shelters.
We continue with functional continuity in all areas of the municipality's activity, and I reiterate that we are at your disposal for any assistance required for populations in need.
Please, in any case where you identify a need - contact hotline 106 and you will receive a response.
Ashdod is strong and united.
Yours,
Dr. Yechiel Lasry,
Mayor
