Dear Residents of Ashdod,

Following the daily situation assessment, please find below the summary and updated guidelines:

Over the past 24 hours, the escalation trend has continued, with a high volume of sirens and rocket launches. In light of President Trump’s ultimatum, the assessment is that we are entering particularly sensitive days, with the potential for significant developments in the near future.

Alongside the ongoing campaign and the need for full vigilance, we are working toward a gradual and cautious return to routine. The guiding principle is that activities will be permitted for adults only—those who are capable of responding quickly in emergency situations and reaching protected areas even in the event of sirens without prior warning. All activities must take place in close proximity to a standard protected space. For this reason, Passover camps for elementary school children will not take place in Ashdod.

Education and Community:
Starting tomorrow, the education system will enter the regular Passover holiday break, and no remote learning will take place.
If concentrated study days for matriculation (bagrut) preparation are held, dedicated updates will be sent to students and their parents by the schools.
• The sports sector is being reviewed by the Home Front Command for a measured return, and games will likely resume without an audience and in accordance with required protection measures.
• Sports classes and activities will resume in the format of last week. Separate updates will be sent.
• We will continue operating 20 community protected spaces (public shelters), which will be staffed continuously through the end of the Passover holiday, at this stage.

The Ashdod Municipality continues to operate across all departments, with teams deployed in the field and ongoing support provided to residents. The municipal hotline (106) is available for any need, and we are working continuously to ensure public safety, provide rapid response to any emergency, and prepare the city for the Passover holiday.

We call on the public to act responsibly, avoid approaching impact sites, and allow emergency forces to carry out their work. Adhering to the guidelines is essential for saving lives and maintaining community resilience.

Following the guidelines saves lives! Please take care of yourselves and your families.

Ashdod is strong and united.

Yours sincerely,
Dr. Yehiel Lasry
Mayor of Ashdod
