Residents of Ashdod,
This morning began with difficult incidents in central Israel, once again demonstrating just how important it is to follow the instructions and enter a protected space in time. Sadly, most of those injured were not in shelter as required. דווקא during the holiday, when people are going out, visiting others, and gathering with family, it is important to remember that this remains a sensitive period, and we must all act with vigilance and responsibility.
A few hours before the start of Passover, all municipal preparations for the holiday were completed. In recent days, municipal teams, sanitation workers, maintenance crews, security personnel, and all relevant city authorities have been working around the clock to ensure that the city is clean, orderly, and ready to welcome the holiday in the best possible way.
We are doing everything in our power to maintain continuity, service, and a sense of routine, and I would like to extend my deep thanks to the residents for their cooperation, patience, and responsiveness throughout this entire period.
As we approach the holiday prayers in the synagogues, please continue to follow the Home Front Command’s instructions, familiarize yourselves in advance with the nearest protected space, and remain attentive, alert, and responsible.
Passover is a holiday of family, hope, and renewal. May we merit a quiet, safe, and unifying holiday.
Happy Passover!
Yours,
Dr. Yehiel Lasry
Mayor of Ashdod
