Residents of Ashdod,
Following the assessment of the situation, the following are the instructions:
In the past 24 hours, numerous launches have been recorded towards the center and north of the country, along with several casualties. At the same time, we bow our heads to the death of the late Major General Guy Loder, who was killed by fire from our forces in fighting in the north.
In Ashdod, we have been without an alarm for more than 48 hours, but this does not indicate what will happen next. The threat still exists, and there is no room for complacency. It is estimated that in the coming 24 hours, and especially by tomorrow evening, the political and security direction will become clearer, in light of the expiration of President Trump's ultimatum.
It is important to remember: defense systems are not hermetic. In some cases, mainly from the direction of Lebanon, there is no early warning, only an alarm. The same is true in the case of interception fragments or cluster rockets. Therefore, one must continue to be alert, stay near a protected area, and as soon as an alarm sounds – enter immediately and remain there until receiving official notification that it is possible to leave.
There is no change in the Home Front Command's guidelines, at least until tomorrow evening.
At the same time, the distribution of relief kits for children, activities in senior citizen buildings, and proactive calls by welfare teams to residents in need of assistance continue - to ensure that no one is left alone.
Even during Chol HaMoed, the city's regular activities continue: cleaning, garbage removal, opening shelters, responding to the 106 hotline, and maintaining full functional continuity. All of the calls received in the last 24 hours regarding protection and shelters have been handled.
The coming days are still sensitive. Even after more than 48 quiet hours - everything can change quickly. It is the responsibility of all of us to continue to be vigilant and stay close to protected spaces.
Happy Holidays,
Yours,
Dr. Yechiel Lasry, Mayor.
